12:46 pm: just cause I haven't written in forever and a day...
Things new in my life:

1) Have passed my Human Resources National Exam *phew and WOOHOO* so I am now 1/2 officially and HR person.. I still have another test to write (for another *small* fee of $596) within 5 years before I can officially call myself a "Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP)". Right now I'm just a CHRP Candidate. *sigh*

2) My job was finally posted as permanent and I have applied and am waiting to get an interview. Yes.. I actually have to interview for the job I have been doing for over a year. Don't ask, cause I don't know.. supposedly its to make the recruiting process more "fair" (even though the poor schleps who actually apply won't have a hope in hell, cause I already have the job) Gotta love the government!! :S

3) Had an interesting discussion with the boyfriend last night about purchasing the house we are in now (which belongs to his parents) and moving into the upstairs master bedroom and kicking his parents into the basement. Had to have LOTS of control to not scream in agony at the thought of living with them for longer than I have to. Its not that I dislike them, in fact we get along FANTABULOUSLY.... I just want MY space.. to do MY things.. in MY house, before we have kids.you know... like clean the house naked or something.. :D
Needless to say.. the conversation lasted about 30 min and ended with a resounding NO from me and capitulation from E about losing his childhood home to strangers.. (we may yet buy them out down the road.. but only if they are moving to another house!!)

4) News this morning was 2 (count 'em...2) stories of murder-suicide families.. one being Chris Benoit and his 7 yr old son and wife. The other, a family of 4 that lived down the street from where I lived as a child (literally.. about 3 blocks from the Troutbeck house). The 3 people are dead.. the one who tried to commit suicide, is in critical condition. Here comes the non-sympathetic Tess... put him the Highway and watch the cars try to avoid him .. *oops* that one "didn't" miss.
Idiot..

Other than that.. nothing going on.

Bak to work I go...

Your Birthdate: October 16

You're incredibly introverted and introspective. You live inside your head.
You spend a lot of alone time meditating and thinking.
People see you as withdrawn, and at times they are right.
You are caring and deep, but it may be difficult for you to show this side of yourself.

Your strength: Your original approach to thinking

Your weakness: You tend to shy away from others

Your power color: Pale blue

Your power symbol: Wavy line

Your power month: July

02:45 pm: It's a sad day
So apparently the Ontario government has decided that their workers are not spending enough time on WORK, and too much time of Facebook.. so.. they have fire walled it officially today.

Sad, sad day. :(

On the one hand the world says "open your arms to everyone, be everyone's friend, communicate, communicate COMMUNICATE and use the web to keep in touch with everyone" and on the other hand it says "you can only use the internet at home, god forbid you take your 15 minute break and 30 min lunch and spend it doing something on the company computer".

Now.. don't get me wrong.. I agree that using the company time/money/equipment too much is a major no-no.. but let's be honest here, how many of us have spent an hour surfing the net for nothing in particular, just to kill some time cause its a slow day at work? Who honeslty sits at their desk, "salivating" while waiting for the phone to ring and it be your boss with the NEXT BIG PROJECT.
I don't .. I work when I have work to do.

My point is this: if you want employees to be motivated to come to their jobs, give them something to break up thier time with. 80% of the world has some form of A.D.D I'm sure.. just look at any generation younger than 35 and you'll see their lack of attention span, the need for action on tv/movies, the constant checking of e-mail, cell phones and text messages, voicemail... why cut them off from that?

I say all this a little (let me stress a LITTLE) tongue in cheek.. cause really I have Livejiournal to fill my voids now.. so until they figure out I'm using this.. I'll just be here more often! :P

There is ALWAYS a loophole!!

MUUAHAHAHAAHAHAHAH

*ahem*

I mean..

Ok.. back to work

I'm so excited to meet her all I keep thinking of is neat it will be to have 2 little girls to play with and talk to and COOL it is that I am their AUNT!! I'm going to be that cool person they look up to, i hope, (like I do to Fer, and MR, and all my aunts who are sort of young..or at elast closer to my age than other women.. ) hehe

I just think its SOO exciting!

Anyway, just thought I would write a silly, and emotional, and giddy, and crying, and happy, and just EXCITED I am to be an Aunt again! YAY!!
